Our good friend Tom Hegen has shared his series: The Salt Series II. A second instalment after a very successful first set that has been widely featured in more than 80 magazines and viewed by around 70 million people worldwide. Tom is an award-winning photographer from Munich, Germany and we tremendous love his work on hottopbest. He always has been making the most awed and inspiring work and it's truly deserving to be featured. From this collection, the colors are breathtaking and it's hard to imagine this is the spectacle from nature. Thank you Tom for capturing and taking us in the salt production sites in Western Australia.
The colour of the water comes from micro bacteria, which changes their hues when the salt concentration rises. Once ponds are completely dried out, a layer of salt of around 25 cm in the pond is ready to harvest. After harvesting, the salt gets washed and ready for transportation.
